For membership enquiries complete the Form under New Members. The course, often described as “inland links”, is laid out on open heathland. Due to the course’s exceptionally good drainage golf is playable practically all year round with the permanent greens always in use. Facilities available include a 10-bay driving range, lake-side putting green and a chipping practice area as well as a magnificent clubhouse with full bar and catering.

Rathdowney Golf Club is a beautiful parkland golf course set in the south western corner of Co. Laois. Established in 1930 it covers 104 acres of countryside and offers a very pleasant round of golf. In 1997 the course was extended to 18 holes, using the advice of renowned golf course designer Pat Ruddy, and now offers a new challenge to all who play it. In recent years a new clubhouse was opened offering modern facilities and services. Today the course is of a matured state, with challenging holes and fairways. The bar and restaurant (The Willow Tree@Rathdowney Golf Club) are open to the public and cater for all events including societies and open events. Rathdowney Golf Club is a unique location to play an enjoyable round of golf. Rathdowney Golf Club is 5 minutes from M7 (J21) & M8 (J3) motorways.

Situated in the heart of Killenard the course has been exquisitely designed by the ever famous Golf legend Seve Ballesteros. The seeds of Mountrath Golf Club were sewn when fifteen people – mainly Doctors, Priests, Bankers and Businessmen met on October 23rd, 1929 in the old cinema hall in Mountrath. From this group a Committee was set up to form the club and organize playing facilities; and so Mountrath Golf Club took shape. The trustees of the Club approached James Conroy, Forest, Mountrath and rented part of his 520 acre estate. On 31st October 1929. 65 acres were rented for one year for a payment of £35. An old two-storey house on the land was to be used as the Clubhouse.

Portarlington Golf Club was founded in 1908, set in the towns land of Garryhinch about 2.5 miles from Portarlington. This beautiful parkland course was designed by Eddie Hackett. In the early 1990s the course was converted from 9 holes to 18 holes which brought the River Barrow and the woodland areas adjoining the river into play. The magnificent old trees and the wildlife, mallard ducks, swans and red squirrel that roam the fairways and woods made the course an enchanting venue. The golf course is a serious challenge to all golfers and hazards lurk around every corner.
