Nestled in the heart of Mid Ulster, Killymoon Golf Club offers a stunning 18-hole parkland course that has been a cornerstone of Northern Ireland’s golfing heritage since its establishment in 1889. As a founding member of the Golfing Union of Ireland, Killymoon blends tradition with modern excellence, providing a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all levels.
The course is situated in sheltered country in the War Hollow. The War Hollow forms part of the Valley Links today and this part of the Valley is said to have been the scene of an ancient battle between The Chieftains of The Route and Magnus Barefoot, King of Norway. This battle took place around 1102. The Valley is remarkable for the fact that there are only eighteen bunkers in the entire eighteen holes.
The 9 hole golf course at Manor Golf Club, Kilrea was opened for play in 1991 and was affiliated to the G.U.I towards the end of 1994 during the late Eric McMaster’s first year as Captain.
Set in the rolling drumlins of County Down, the course has magnificent views of Slieve Croob and the Mountains of Mourne which harnesses the natural environment in order to offer challenging golf and stunning views.
A testing 9 hole parkland course located in west Belfast just off the M1 motorway. Colin Valley GC was established in 1993 and became affiliated to the golfing union 1999. It is a small community based club with access to state of the art Trackman Driving Range on site.
Cliftonville Golf Club was founded in 1911 and is one of Belfast City’s oldest clubs. It is a 9 hole course which presents a serious test of Golf. The Course measures over 6200 yds and features a starting hole nominated twice in BBC NI’s “Toughest Par 3”. This is followed by the superb par four 2nd at over 450 yds. This old lady has other joys awaiting you when you attempt to hit over the river in front of the 5th and 7th greens. This course lies in the shadow of Cavehill with beautifully matured greens full of subtle contours. A hidden gem in the heart of Belfast!
