Nestled on the western shores of Sheephaven Bay with its blue flag beaches and stunning scenery, Dunfanaghy Golf Club sits on the edge of the picturesque, vibrant village of Dunfanaghy in the shadow of Muckish Mountain. Golf has been played on the seaside links of Dunfanaghy for over 100 years. The course was laid out in 1906 by Mr Harry Vardon, six times winner of the British Open. Many years later a young boy named Paul McGinley learned to play golf on the fairways of Dunfanaghy. That young boy became Europe's Ryder Cup Captain in 2014. Mannan Castle Golf Club
Our facilities include an 18 hole parkland course, a driving range, pitch and putt area, chipping facility and two putting greens in addition to the clubhouse bar and dining facilities. Ride-on buggy, electric trolley and pull trollies are available to hire from our professional Kevin McGivern. The driving range has 10 bays with 5 of these using automated ball placement. There is also a tuition bay where our professional, Kevin, imparts his knowledge. The pitch and putt area is part of our new practice academy which comprises this area, the chipping green and putting greens. We have 6 holes developed which are a great facility for our young juvenile members, members and also our visitors. The chipping area is now in use. It has three pin positions and a bunkered area. The clubhouse is accessible throughout the year and the bar and dining areas open in line with the season and daylight hours. We open on Thursday nights all year round for our loyal local supporters and neighbours.
